James, originally started out in a family run electronic security business. He worked on multimillion-dollar projects where his core responsibilities where job costing, financial forecasting and keeping project accounts accurate, right from start to finish.

Sheridan on the other hand came from a background in real estate. She managed the accounts for several agencies over her career, and constantly felt the frustration tradies experienced when it came to supplying and paying invoices, keeping up to date with their paper work, and staying organised with their jobs.

James and Sheridan both, in their own fields, saw the gaps businesses had in their operations, and decided to put their minds together to create a solution.
After identifying the specific need of support with job costing, bookkeeping, account management and payroll, Vital Accounts was born.

James and Sheridan have been clear on one thing right from the start, the motive of Vital Accounts is to be more than just bookkeepers to your business.

They want to get to know you and your staff. They want to see how you work, and know the processes of your business, inside and out.

They know how to work specifically with you from things as simple as your pricing, costing and expense tracking, right up to making sure you don’t blow budgets, are making good profits and are running your jobs and accounts accurately.

Sheridan’s enthusiasm for her work has seen her succeed time and time again. She uses her understanding and patient nature to build a personal relationship with her clients and their business, right from the ground up.

Sheridan works best when utilizing her team collaboratively to provide the best possible outcome for her clients and is the go-to girl when the utmost of operation efficiency is required.

As a mum of two young boys and a business owner herself, she understands that family should always come first and finds true pride helping other small business owners find their perfect balance too.

Tess’s greatest passions are simple, finance – and working with people. She has spent years finding the perfect way to combine the two, and she does so with pride at Vital Accounts.


She genuinely loves numbers, and more than that, she loves making sure her clients truly understand their accounts and financial position.

Tess has been a key member of Vital Accounts since the start. Her clients love her engaging personality and speak highly of her expertise business and accounting skills.

Tess has grown with the company and has a profound knowledge of financial accounting and taxational systems.

Mady Rowlands

Mady is one highly motivated, process driven and dedicated team player.
Their isn’t many things she loves more than implementing rock solid process’s to exceed clients expectations.


Whilst Mady is incredibly passionate about her career, she is also passionate about personal and professional growth. She loves the concept of consistent learning, evolution and adapting to new industry techniques as they arise.

When she finds time up her sleeve, you will catch Mady with her husband and kids enjoying the Victorian high country, camping and exploring.

Alicia Hough

Administration  Associate

Alicia’s extensive experience in customer service and high level administration make her a force to be reckoned with when it comes to organisation, planning and prioritising hers and her clients work load.

Alicia’s can-do attitude, approachable nature, patience and ability to truly listen to her clients is testament to her success in building strong and long lasting professional relationships.


Alicia knows how to problem solve and work through her clients and her team’s needs, which makes her an integral part of Vital Accounts’ operation.

When Alicia isn’t supporting her team with her super star administration skills, she loves to go camping with her husband and two children to rest and reset.
